2021 July

Launch of Select Switchboards

In July 2021, Select Switchboards was founded in Darwin, NT, Australia, to address a significant gap in the local switchboard manufacturing industry. A part of the Renko Start-Up Incubator, Select Switchboards identified an opportunity for delivering high-quality bespoke switchboards tailored to fulfill the unique demands of each project.

From the beginning, our commitment has been to excel in design innovation, build quality, precision, and customer service, setting the platform for Select Switchboards to grow into a significant player in the industry.

2022 August

Completion of Larrakeyah Defense Project

This high-profile venture demonstrated our growth, alongside our capabilities and expertise in the field of switchboard manufacture. Our role in this project spanned the entire process from initial design conception to manufacturing and final installation of the switchboards throughout the precinct.

Delivering on such a substantial project not only validated our technical competencies but also fortified our reputation as a reliable, quality-focused switchboard manufacturer. This achievement served to bolster our standing in the industry, underlining Select Switchboards' commitment to tackling complex, large-scale projects and delivering excellence alongside our partner companies, including Select Industrial.

2023 January

Over 1,000 Switchboards Designed and Manufactured

January 2023 marked another crucial milestone in our history: Select Switchboards reached the remarkable achievement of designing and manufacturing over 1,000 switchboards. This landmark demonstrated our sustained growth and commitment to excellence, with each unit embodying our dedication to quality and customer satisfaction.

Producing such a substantial number of switchboards not only demonstrates our manufacturing capacity but also reflects on our team's capability to continue to produce high-quality custom switchboards that meet a broad range of customer requirements, with precision and efficiency.

This milestone reinforced our position in the industry, with Select Switchboards now having earned a reputation as a reliable and skilled manufacturer. Dedicated to delivering high-quality, customised switchboard solutions promptly to fit within clients' project timelines. 2023 July

First Government Tender & Over 20 Staff Members

A remarkable achievement after just 2 years of operation, Select Switchboards secured our first major open government tender with Northern Territory's largest utility provider. A testament to the trust and confidence that the industry's leading entities have in our capabilities. This notable win is a demonstration of our ability to compete and deliver on large-scale projects, further solidifying our position within the industry.

In the same month, we also celebrated a major internal milestone, growing our dedicated Select Switchboard team to over 20 full-time staff members. This growth not only reflects our company's robust performance but also our commitment to creating jobs and nurturing talent in our local community. Together, these milestones represent a significant leap forward in our journey, speaking volumes about our capacity for growth and our unwavering commitment to excellence in every aspect of our operations.

2024 December

Expansion and Relocation of Select Switchboards

A key milestone to facilitate Select Switchboards' continuing growth, we relocated to a new, state-of-the-art site at 7 Pruen Road, Berrimah, NT, 0828. Spanning an impressive 19,000m², the new facility is seven times the size of our previous Winnellie location and encapsulates our commitment to growth and innovation to better serve our clients.

Alongside the move to the new facility, we have also expanded our capabilities with the acquisition of cutting-edge metalwork machinery, including advanced CNC presses and precision cutting equipment. This investment enables us to further increase our in-house services. Providing us with more control over the switchboard manufacturing processes to guarantee greater efficiency, accuracy, and quality, whilst minimising lead times.

This milestone marks another chapter in our journey to continuously exceed industry standards while fostering local job creation and supporting the Northern Territory’s infrastructure projects.

2025 February

Launch of Dynamix Fabrication to Expand Our In-House Switchboard Manufacturing Capabilities

The Renko Group proudly launched Dynamix Fabrication - a dedicated metal fabrication operation established to enhance our ability to deliver fully customised switchboard and enclosure solutions. This strategic addition has significantly increased our in-house switchboard manufacturing capabilities, allowing us to independently produce high-quality, bespoke metal enclosures from our state-of-the-art facility in Darwin.

With Dynamix Fabrication, we now have greater control over the entire switchboard design and production process. This expansion enables us to guarantee the highest quality metal fabrication work, reduce lead times, and strengthen our sustainability efforts by manufacturing locally within the Northern Territory of Australia.

The launch of Dynamix Fabrication marks a new era of precision, efficiency, and flexibility for Select Switchboards (and the Renko Group), as we continue to innovate and deliver the highest standards of service and craftsmanship to our clients.
